Brittany Week

One popular way of using the Take Brittany resource is to collapse the timetable for a week and to take the whole school on an adventure ‘to Brittany’.

I have seen this done in a few schools now with inspiring results. Getting the whole school to make passports and have them stamped on entering the school hall for a ‘journey’ across the channel certainly engages pupils. Sharing video footage and photos not only gives a feeling of really travelling to Brittany but immerses children in the culture of this region of France which shared so many connections with the UK.

Attached is a PowerPoint made by one of the schools which trialled the Take Brittany activities before they were formally published. There are some examples of children’s work for some of the units available on the Take Brittany resource.
